A Book Fair

A fair where different types of books are displayed and sold is called a book fair.It contains the newly written books by the creative authors of the country .Usually , a book fair is held in February throughout the country in different places. The biggest book fair “Ekushe Boi Mela” is held in February on the occasion of 21st February. It is organized by Bangla Academy on the Bangla Academy campus and Suhrawardy Uddan.

The purpose of a book fair is not mainly for selling books. A book fair helps to develop the publication of books, inspires new writers, and creates interest for books among general people. Books are also sold at a cheaper rate than the usual rate for inspiring people to buy more books. All types of visitors gather at a book fair. Writers, publishers, readers, book lovers, children and many other people come to visit and buy books at a book fair. Usually, the stalls get crowded in the evening. In a book fair, hundreds of stalls are arranged where all types of books are displayed. Academic books, storybooks, fiction books, children’s books, drama books etc. are displayed in different pavilion. The stalls are also decorated creatively and attractively that motivates the visitors. There are also refreshment sections in a book fair, such as seminars and cultural programmes . There are food and tea stalls around the premises. A book fair is an important arrangement for the betterment of education and spreading knowledge.
